Zombie Walk/Pub Crawl FAQs

What's the difference between the "walk" and the "crawl"?
The Zombie/Survivor walk is an opportunity for you to stumble through the streets of Glen Ellyn and show off your awesome costume to passers by. Think of it as a parade through town. We will begin the group walk at the Public Parking lot located on Crescent Blvd and ending at the Citibank building on Main St. Please see the Itinerary page for the map route. Maps will also be included in registration packets.

For the PubZ n GrubZ Crawl you're on your own. Once we end the walk at the Citibank building you are welcome to stay and dance with the other zombies and survivors or you can head out to grab a bite to eat or get something to drink. The best costume contest will be announced at the Citibank building at 6:30 pm so you may want to hang out a bit with our DJ - TBM Productions. The list of participating restaurants is on our Crawl Stops page, and they are also noted on your map with zombie symbols.

How much is it?
Online advanced registration is $20 and is available until October 25th. After that you can register at the event for $25 day of at the check in/registration table.

What do I get?
Your registration packet will include an event t-shirt, route map, wristband for those 21+, and special discounts, coupons and freebies for the participating restaurants. We will also be providing free makeup applications and tips from the McAninch Arts Center makeup artists to all registered participants.

Where do I pick up my packet?
When you arrive between 4:00-5:30pm the check in/registration table will be located in the Public Parking lot on Crescent Blvd. If you arrive between 5:30-7pm we will be moving the check in/registration table to the Citibank building with our DJ, TBM Productions, so we can party with you.

What do I need to bring to check in?
Please bring your ID and your Brown Paper Ticket registration confirmation. (mobile confirmation is acceptable)

If I am registering day of the event what do I need?
Please bring your ID and either cash or credit card for registration.

Do I need money?
Yes. Registered participants will be receiving awesome coupons from the participating restaurants but you do still have to pay for your own food and drinks.

If I don't pre-register will I still get a t-shirt that day?
It depends. We will have a limited number available for day of purchase. If we run out we will mail yours to you. But we highly recommend pre-ordering so you can be cool and wear yours the next day and make everyone that didn't go very jealous. T-shirt graphics created by Monkey Wrench Studio, Inc.

What time does everything start?
Please visit our Itinerary page for the schedule. Check In/Registration begins at 4:00pm.

What time does the event end?
Cantina is the last restaurant/bar to close at 2am so when they close you have to go home. We do not want to see zombies on park benches in the morning. The last train into the city leaves Glen Ellyn at 11pm so please keep that in mind if you are planning on taking the Metra.

Is the Metra close by? Can I take the train?
Absolutely! The Metra station is conveniently located right in downtown Glen Ellyn. Please visit our Itinerary page to see where the station is located in relation to the event and restaurants. You will be taking the Union Pacific/West Line to Glen Ellyn.

Do I have to be 21 or older to participate?
Not at all. Obviously if you want an alcoholic beverage - yes. Our restaurants are all family friendly and we welcome zombies and survivors of all ages.

Do I need a wristband?
If you are 21+ and you are not registering for the event and getting all the extra cool stuff, yes. Wristbands will be $1 and they will provide you with the convenience of not getting carded at every single bar. Once you have a wristband you're good to go, although if restaurants/bars want to additionally card you that is their right to do so.

Do I have to dress up?
We'd love to see you come as a zombie but you are welcome to be a survivor too. We will be hosting a Best Costume contest for our zombies! Costume winners will be announced at the Citibank building at 6:30pm.

Contest, eh? What do I win?
The Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce is donating a $50 gift certificate which can be used at any participating establishment in Glen Ellyn. How nice!
